Yesterday I had a game – and VB crashed during the boss fight level 75.

Thing is – I do not really trust my testcartridge. It is so worn out, that sometimes “the cartridge” loses some connections. Most of the time this happens when starting the game… I than jiggle it a bit and squeeze it – and everything is fine again.

But it does happen once in a while during the game.

I don’t know if the above crash was because of the cartridge or the code. I debugged for about two hours, found a bug, where a boss laser can destroy you when you are on the opposite side of the screen… but nothing that would crash the game.

I know it is a bold move to ask you if you encountered problems in level 75 – but if you do please contact me, with as much information as you can get.

    Personally:

    • level 75
    • boss was hit a couple of times – and about to be destroyed
    • player was on the right side of the screen (right max -> x = max)
    • player had a 4 shot with autofire, max bullets, speeds maxed
    • I think the crash occured, when a boss laser “dome” hit me from the left side

I litterally played dozens of test games (level 75) – but everything was fine…

just a note about your cartridge, have you thought of tin-plating the cartridge connector pins with solder?  i did that with my test cartridge here as i found that it went into my vectrex quite loosely, and i did have some problems in the past of sometimes the cartridge would not boot properly without re-inserting a few times until it worked

since tin-plating the cartridge pins i have not had any problems

(if you decide to do it, it only needs a very thin layer of solder on each pin)

I reach level 75 only once a year so I cannot really help here.
