    Thank you for your reply.

… and … the current “speed” is actually a technical value – it is the 16bit number that is added/subtracted from your 16 bit position information.

Perhaps not really needed. Or perhaps only for the “Technical player”. Showing a Speed 53428 doesn’t make sense, either. A percentage would be (more or less) short and meaningful. Speed 80%

As written before, playing Vector Blade is more and more fun to me. By firing salvos on the enemies you quickly clear the lower levels and can harvest the power-ups. That’s more and more relaxing and fun.

Achievements: Several achievements at a time.
Not sure whether this is a bug or a feature: I’ve reached to achievements at a time: Sniper 3 and sniper 2. The achievements where shown one after the other, so this worked fine. I’m not sure which achievement 2 or 3 was shown first. If possible, lower achievements should be shown first. But in real life it’s unlikely to happen, anyway, so this is not so important, I think.

    Beta 20

I’ve just played the latest beta 20 and I think the title and intro is pretty good, now. Thank you, Malban, for all changing this, it was worth the effort.

If it is a whole “SPACE” line – that is easy. Yes that I can do.

O.k.. Could you perhaps provide the code section that contains the text. I could add the space lines, then. (This would be the easist way but I’m not sure whether you want to share parts of your code. If not that’s surely fine.)

But adding a “fraction” spaceline -> there it gets tricky…

I understand. For the credits such a fraction would be cool but it’s fine without that fraction. Not sure about this one: What about adding a space line inbetween every name? Could be worth a try…

Ah, I didn’t know. How do new players know about this? (Perhaps something for the paper manual?)

If later in the game you have the timer up to a minute or two – a shield can give a carte blanche – for 1-2 levels!

That sounds attractive. I’ll look out for time bonus more – that’s for sure. 😉

Ah, I though that adding some extra lines would be just a matter of adding “new line characters” or filling a string array differently. I forgot that you have to deal with a low-level programming language plus the specialities of the Vectrex.

Thanks for this explanation, Malban. I thought the time bonus has something to do with the bosses, but this seems not to be the case. What is the time bonus for?

I can probably light him a bit more – but that will not make it any easier – only more obvious 🙂

I’d also say that it’s a bit hard to see that the boss is hit. A more obvious blinking would be good.

Hey Helmut, sorry for being late to say hi! Feel glad to have you here

No problem. Thank you for the welcome, GeoAnas. I’m quite happy to be one of the testers. But testing of Peer’s VecMan is a bit of a raw deal

    Movie: More vertical spacing
Currently, the Vector Blade “movie” looks a bit cramped.
Suggestion: There should be more empty lines /vertical spacing, e.g. after “Vector Blade” there could be 2-3 empty lines. Also the credits (all the names of the people) are a bit cramped; increasing the vertical spacing a bit would make it look better.

Just did about two hours of playing. I learn slowly how to play Vector Blad but I think I more and more understand the game and how you can handle and play it. The achievements are surely helpful and make the slow start faster. I killed the first boss and max. score was around 80.000. Took me a little to figure out how to handle the boss, right. I like the “throwing stars” falling down when shooting the enemies but they make your life really hard.
Playing Vector Blade is more and more fun to me. 🙂 Release! was quite impressive and here you (Christopher) are about to create another master piece.

I’ve just realized that you can scroll the “Achievement” screen, too. Up/down arrows would be a really good idea, here.

What – if you die during a boss fight – the boss pushes you an random (1-5) levels back in your progress? That way you get a chance to replanish your “goods” and you ARE punished.

Ouch, I just realize that at first I didn’t understand right. Pushing you some levels back in the game (not in your equipment) is a good idea, I think. This way you do not learn about the boss too quickly plus you don’t loose all your lifes one after another when fighting against the boss.
